Indian Army launches Territorial Army recruitment in Poonch, massive turnout recorded

Srinagar, Dec 9, KNT: The Indian Army has commenced a Territorial Army recruitment drive in the Surankote area of Poonch district, drawing an overwhelming response from youth across Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials said that thousands of aspirants have registered and are taking part in the recruitment process, reflecting strong interest among the youth in serving the nation through the Territorial Army. Candidates from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir have reached Surankote to participate in the ongoing drive.

The recruitment process, being conducted in a phased manner under standard Army guidelines, is scheduled to continue until December 15. An army official told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure smooth conduct of the recruitment, including security, medical screening, and administrative facilities.

He added that the Territorial Army provides an opportunity for motivated youth to serve the country while continuing their civilian professions, and such recruitment drives play a significant role in engaging young aspirants from the region.
