The inquiry has been ordered after family members of the deceased woman and locals from her native area staged protests, alleging gross medical negligence and questioning the credibility of earlier internal inquiries. They had appealed to the Lieutenant Governor and the Health Minister to intervene and ensure an impartial probe into the case.

Officials said the inquiry has been initiated to establish facts and fix responsibility, if any, in the matter. [KNT]
