Landmine Blast Claims Life of Army Havaldar in North Kashmir’s Kupwara

 

Kupwara, Dec 16, KNT: An Army soldier injured in a landmine blast in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district late Monday night succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday morning, officials said.

The soldier has been identified as Havaldar Zubair of 13 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry. Officials said he was injured after stepping on a landmine in the Putaha Khan Gali sector of Kupwara during operational duties.

Soon after the incident, the injured soldier was evacuated and referred to the Military Hospital at Drugmulla for specialised treatment. However, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment on Tuesday morning.
