Rajouri Hospital Clears Air Over Alleged Torture of Nursing Student

Rajouri, Dec 4, KNT: Government Medical College and Associated Hospital Rajouri has issued a formal clarification, strongly rejecting social media claims that a female nursing student from Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University was admitted after allegedly being assaulted by a teacher.
In an official statement, the Medical Superintendent of GMC Rajouri said the viral report was “factually incorrect and misleading.” He clarified that hospital records and staff verification confirmed that no student named Shehreen or Fehreen had visited the OPD, Emergency unit, or was admitted to the hospital.
The statement further said that no student from Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University is currently receiving any medical treatment at GMC Rajouri.
Hospital authorities urged people not to believe or circulate unverified information on social media platforms, calling the reports irresponsible and sensationalised.

The clarification, issued by the Medical Superintendent and endorsed by the Principal of GMC Rajouri, has also been forwarded to the District Development Commissioner, District Information Office Rajouri, and the Press Club.
Earlier, social media posts had alleged that a B.Sc Nursing student from the university was subjected to physical punishment by a teacher, following which she reportedly collapsed and was taken to hospital. GMC Rajouri has categorically denied all such claims and confirmed that no such case has been reported at the hospital. [KNT]
