Tanvir Sadiq Urges LG to Clear Reservation File, Calls for Full Meterisation to Ensure 200 Free Units

Srinagar, Dec 5, KNT: National Conference leader Tanvir Sadiq on Friday said that his party has already fulfilled its role regarding the reservation proposal and expressed hope that the Lieutenant Governor will take an early decision on the file sent by the government. He was speaking to reporters while responding to questions over the ongoing reservation discussions in Jammu and Kashmir at Hazratbal Srinagar.
Sadiq said that all formal steps required from the then government and the National Conference had been completed. “Whatever we were supposed to do as the government or as a political party we did that and now we expect the Lieutenant Governor to decide on the file that has been submitted,” he stated.
The issue has remained in public focus for several months, particularly after questions were raised about the minutes of the reservation committee’s report. The Chief Minister had earlier chosen not to comment on the contents of the committee minutes.

Sadiq in response to a question, said that Jammu and Kashmir must move towards complete meterisation of electricity consumption. He argued that full coverage would improve transparency and enable the administration to offer relief to households. “We want full meterisation of Jammu and Kashmir so that the government can provide two hundred units of electricity free to the people,” he said.[KNT]
