Traffic Police conduct enforcement drive at Beerwah, 48 challans issued



Budgam, Dec 8, KNT: Traffic Police Budgam on Monday conducted a special enforcement drive in Beerwah area to ensure strict adherence to traffic norms and enhance road safety.

The drive was carried out under the supervision of DySP Traffic Budgam, Farooq Ahmad. During the operation, police issued 48 challans against motorists for various traffic violations, including reckless driving, improper parking, riding without helmets, and other breaches of traffic rules.

Officials said the checking drive was aimed at improving traffic discipline and reducing the risk of road accidents, particularly in congested areas.

Speaking on the occasion, DySP Traffic Budgam Farooq Ahmad said such enforcement drives would continue in the coming days to instil a sense of responsibility among road users. He urged the general public, especially youth, to strictly follow traffic regulations in the interest of their own safety and that of others.

He also appealed to drivers to carry valid documents, wear helmets and seat belts, avoid overspeeding, and refrain from using mobile phones while driving.

Traffic Police Budgam reiterated their commitment to ensuring safer roads and appealed to citizens to cooperate with enforcement efforts for maintaining smooth and orderly traffic movement. [KNT]
