Srinagar, Dec 3, KNT: Police have arrested two persons during a patrolling operation near in the Nishat area and recovered contraband substance and cash from their possession, a police official told the news agency Kashmir News Trust.
The accused were identified as Sheikh Umar Jan, and Nadeem Qadir Chopan.

Police said 8 grams of heroin and cash amounting to Rs 11,000 were recovered from the duo.

A case under FIR No. 98/2025 has been registered under Sections 8, 22 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Nishat and investigation has been taken up.
Police said further details are being verified to ascertain the source and intended destination of the narcotics. [KNT]
