Ujala Cygnus, Amandeep Hospitals Host Major Emergency Medicine Conference in Kashmir

 

Srinagar, Dec 30, KNT: Ujala Cygnus Healthcare, in partnership with Amandeep Hospitals Group, in collaboration with the World Emergency Care Association and Peace and Well-being Foundation, has successfully organised the sixth annual conference on Emergency Medicine Care titled Emercon at Rangreth in central Kashmir.

The conference marked a significant milestone in Kashmir’s medical landscape, bringing together around 140 young medical professionals from local institutions, civil hospitals and various healthcare organisations across the region. The event served as a platform for focused discussion on emergency preparedness, modern challenges in acute care and evolving medical technologies.

The conference was graced by Mahendra Kumar Verma, Director, ICAR Institute Kashmir, as the Chief Guest, while Dr Showkat Mufti, former Head of Department Emergency at SKIMS, attended as Guest of Honour.

Among other prominent participants were Dr Shuchin Bajaj, Founder Director of Ujala Cygnus Healthcare, Dr Amandeep Kaur, Chief Executive Officer of Amandeep Hospitals Group, and Dr Harmeet Singh, Chairman of the World Emergency Care Association.

Renowned speakers from Jammu and Kashmir delivered expert sessions on key issues facing emergency medicine in the region. Dr Parvez Sofi spoke on preparing for disasters in Srinagar, Dr Aabid Amin addressed emergency care challenges in cut off and snowbound areas, while Dr Khalid delivered a session on the role of artificial intelligence in transforming healthcare delivery.

Organizers said the conference provided a vital opportunity for knowledge exchange and skill enhancement, particularly for young doctors working in emergency settings. Emercon is being described as the first large scale emergency medicine conference of its kind in Kashmir, setting a new benchmark for professional training and collaboration in acute care services.
