Srinagar, Jan 5, KNT: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited on Monday said that the safety concern reported at Kalashpora, opposite Nun Gania Masjid in Srinagar’s Bohri Kadal area, has been resolved following repair of a damaged water pipeline beneath an electric pole.
Responding to the news agency Kashmir News Trust on social media, KPDCL stated that the issue had arisen due to a damaged water pipeline located beneath the electric pole and that the same has now been duly repaired by the Jal Shakti PHE department. The corporation said that with the completion of the repair work, the grievance stands redressed and there is no safety concern at the location at present.
The response came a day after KNT highlighted the hazard, with inhabitants alleging inaction and a blame game between the concerned departments. Locals had expressed apprehension over the risk posed by water leakage near the electric installation.
Officials said the issue has now been addressed, bringing relief to inhabitants of the area who appreciated both the departments for prompt response. [KNT]
