With the latest order, health officials said the postings are expected to partially address staff shortages in peripheral health institutions and ease the burden on existing medical staff. However, it remains to be seen whether the remaining doctors awaiting posting will also be accommodated in the coming days.
The doctors have been posted against various specialisations including medicine, paediatrics, gynaecology, anaesthesia, radiology and other disciplines to meet critical healthcare needs at district and sub district levels.
Health officials said further administrative steps are under consideration to streamline postings and ensure timely remuneration to doctors awaiting adjustment. [KNT]
