Govt reconstitutes standing committee for vetting recruitment rules


Jammu, Jan 7, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday modified the composition of the Standing Committee constituted for vetting and finalization of Recruitment Rules of various Gazetted and Non-Gazetted services, according to an official order issued by the General Administration Department.

As per Government Order No. 26-JK (GAD) of 2026, the Director Finance, Finance and Accounts Cadre, ARI and Trainings Department, has been included as a Member of the Standing Committee. The modification has been made in partial amendment of Government Order No. 985-JK (GAD) of 2024 dated September 29, 2024.

The order states that the Director Finance will replace the Secretary (Technical), ARI and Trainings Department, in the committee tasked with examining and finalizing Recruitment Rules across departments.

Officials said the Standing Committee plays a key role in scrutinizing recruitment frameworks to ensure uniformity, legal compliance, and administrative efficiency in appointments to government services.

The order has been issued by the General Administration Department and signed by the Commissioner Secretary to the Government.

Copies of the order have been circulated to all Financial Commissioners, Administrative Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners of Kashmir and Jammu, Deputy Commissioners, and other senior offices for information and necessary action. The order has also been forwarded to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

Officials said the amendment aims to strengthen financial scrutiny and administrative coordination in the process of finalizing recruitment rules for government services. [KNT]
