Kashmir University advertises Public Relations Officer vacancy under Level-10 pay scale



Srinagar, Jan 2, KNT: The University of Kashmir has invited online applications from eligible domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for the post of Public Relations Officer (PRO), according to Advertisement Notice No. 01 of 2026 issued by the varsity.

As per the notification, the recruitment is for one unreserved post of Public Relations Officer under Pay Level-10, carrying a salary of Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,77,500. The essential qualification prescribed for the post is a Master’s Degree in Social Science, Science, Journalism, Management, Commerce, Law, Electronic Media or Mass Media with at least 55 percent marks from a recognised university. The university has also listed three years of relevant experience in an educational institution, government department, public sector undertaking or autonomous body as a desirable qualification.

Regarding age criteria, the upper age limit as on January 1, 2026 has been fixed at 40 years for open merit candidates. Age relaxations are applicable for reserved categories, physically challenged candidates and in-service university employees, in accordance with existing rules.

The online application process will commence from January 2, 2026, and the last date for submission of online forms has been fixed as January 22, 2026. In-service candidates are required to submit hard copies of their applications through the proper channel by January 28, 2026.

Applicants have been advised to apply through the official website of the University of Kashmir by completing the registration process, filling in personal, educational and experience details, and paying the prescribed application fee online. Persons with benchmark disabilities have been exempted from payment of the application fee.

The university has clarified that incomplete applications will be rejected without notice and that all future updates, including corrigendum or selection-related information, will be published only on the university website. [KNT]
