Multiple fire incidents reported across Kashmir in last 24 hours

Srinagar, Jan 10, KNT: The Fire & Emergency Services Kashmir Range responded to multiple fire incidents across various districts of the Kashmir Valley during the last 24 hours, officials said on Saturday.
Officials said prompt and coordinated action by fire service personnel helped control the fires in time and prevented further damage in several cases. However, residential houses, cowsheds, sheds and other structures were damaged in different incidents.
In Kupwara district, a double-storey residential house was damaged in Mukam Shah Wali, Drugmulla, while a forest fire was reported from Shehlal area. In Anantnag district, a cowshed was damaged in Magam, Srigufwara, and a double-storey residential house along with a cowshed suffered damage in Kawarri Gam. Another incident in Bagwani, Sallar involved an electric transformer catching fire.
In Budgam district, a single-storey cowshed was damaged in Char-e-Sharief. In Srinagar, forest fire incidents were reported from the Makhdoom Sahib area of Hariparbat, while in Chotta Bazar near a marriage hall, fire broke out in one room of a four-storey building. Officials said the fire was confined to the affected room and the remaining structure was successfully saved.

In Ganderbal district, a double-storey cowshed was damaged in Rangil, while in Pulwama’s Tral area, a GCI sheeted shed was affected by fire in Bongam. In Kulgam district, a single-storey residential house and a single-storey cowshed were damaged in Yaripora. Another cowshed was damaged in Hardboni, Kunzer area of Sopore.
Officials said fire and emergency service personnel remain on high alert across the Valley and continue to respond swiftly to emergencies. The general public has been advised to strictly follow fire safety guidelines and immediately report any fire incident to the nearest fire station or control room for timely assistance. [KNT]
