Residential house gutted in Pinglena blaze before firefighters arrive



Pulwama, Jan 8, KNT: A major fire broke out in a residential building at Pinglena area of Pulwama district on Thursday, causing extensive damage to the structure before firefighters could reach the spot.

Officials said the fire erupted in the residential building under unknown circumstances and quickly spread, engulfing large portions of the house. By the time Fire and Emergency Services personnel arrived and launched firefighting operations, the building had already been largely gutted.

Firefighters later managed to bring the blaze under control after sustained efforts, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures. No immediate reports of loss of life or injuries were received in the incident.

Officials said the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, while an assessment of losses is being carried out. [KNT]
