Soldier dies after accidental fall during night patrol in Baramulla

Baramulla, Jan 9, KNT: A soldier died after accidentally slipping and falling from a height while proceeding for night patrolling duty in the Sheeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said.

Official sources said the incident occurred at Fathagard Sheeri Camp, where the soldier was posted. While moving for night patrol duty, he reportedly lost balance and fell from a height, sustaining serious injuries.

The injured soldier was immediately evacuated and rushed to the Government Medical College Baramulla for medical treatment. However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead.

The deceased has been identified as Hira Lal, a resident of Haryana. Officials said his body has been kept in the mortuary of GMC Baramulla for post-mortem examination and completion of other medico legal formalities.
