
Srinagar, Jan 8, KNT: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Thursday forecast largely stable weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir till January 22, with mostly partly cloudy skies expected to prevail across the region.
According to the MeT, brief spells of light rain or snow are likely at isolated places in the Kashmir division during January 16 and 17. In addition, light snowfall is expected over higher reaches on January 20.
The weather office said a significant fall in minimum temperatures is expected across the region till January 10. Thereafter, minimum temperatures are likely to witness a gradual rise of one to two degrees Celsius.
The Department further stated that moderate to dense fog is likely to persist over the plains of the Jammu division for the next five days, which may affect visibility during early morning and late night hours.

The Meteorological Centre has advised people, particularly commuters and motorists in fog-prone areas, to exercise caution during travel, while farmers and orchardists have been asked to plan their activities accordingly. [KNT]
