Four Injured in Morning Road Mishap Near GDC Thanamandi


Rajouri, Feb 3, KNT: At least four persons sustained injuries in a road accident reported on Tuesday morning near Government Degree College Thanamandi on the Shahdara Sharief road in Rajouri district, officials said.

The mishap occurred when a motorcycle and an Alto car collided on the busy stretch, leading to injuries to all four occupants involved in the accident. Soon after the incident, passersby and locals rushed to the spot and informed the authorities.

The injured persons were immediately shifted to Primary Health Centre Thanamandi, where they were given first aid. Owing to the nature of their injuries, doctors referred all of them to Government Medical College Rajouri for specialised treatment.

Officials said the condition of the injured was being monitored at GMC Rajouri, while further details regarding their identities were awaited at the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, Sub Divisional Magistrate Thanamandi Sayed Abid Hussain, accompanied by Naib Tehsildar Mehmood and police personnel, visited the accident site to take stock of the situation. The police have initiated proceedings to ascertain the cause of the collision.

Traffic movement on the road was regulated for some time following the accident to prevent congestion and ensure safety. [KNT]
