Winter Festival 2026 to Be Held at Doodhpathri After Reopening

Budgam, Feb 17, KNT: Following the reopening of the scenic Doodhpathri tourist destination, Chief Executive Officer of Doodhpathri Development Authority Reyaz Ahmad Beigh on Tuesday announced that the authority will organise Winter Festival 2026 at Doodhpathri on Wednesday as part of a broader tourism revival initiative.

He said the festival is aimed at promoting winter tourism and showcasing the region’s snow-covered landscapes, cultural vibrancy and adventure potential. The event is expected to feature activities highlighting the natural beauty of Doodhpathri while encouraging both domestic visitors and local inhabitants to explore winter attractions in the area.

Beigh extended a cordial invitation to tourists and local inhabitants to participate in the Winter Festival 2026 and join in celebrating the revival of tourism at the destination. He expressed optimism that renewed promotional efforts would help restore visitor footfall after a period of limited activity.

He said the reopening of the tourist spot along with the scheduled winter festival is expected to provide a much-needed boost to economic activity in the region. Thousands of families directly and indirectly dependent on tourism, including those engaged in transport, hospitality and local trade, are likely to benefit from increased tourist inflow.
