Omar Abdullah Reaffirms Commitment to Women’s Empowerment, Safety on International Women’s Day


Srinagar, March 8, KNT: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday said his government is committed to ensuring the empowerment, safety and dignity of women while providing them equal opportunities across all spheres of life.
Extending greetings on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Abdullah lauded the strength, resilience and contributions of women in shaping families, communities and society.
The Chief Minister’s Office said Abdullah conveyed his appreciation for the role women continue to play in social, economic and community life.
“On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the chief minister has extended his warm greetings and heartfelt appreciation to women for their strength, resilience, and invaluable contributions in shaping families, communities, and society,” the Chief Minister’s Office said in a post on X.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, the Chief Minister said efforts will continue to ensure that women receive equal opportunities and an environment where their dignity and safety remain protected.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police also extended greetings to women on the occasion and reiterated their commitment to their security and empowerment.
“J&K Police extends warm greetings to all women on International Women’s Day. Your courage, determination, and contributions inspire us every day. We remain steadfast in our commitment to ensuring your safety, dignity, and empowerment,” Kashmir Zone Police said in a post on X.
International Women’s Day is observed globally on March 8 to celebrate the achievements of women and to promote gender equality across social, economic and political spheres. [KNT]
