DC Srinagar, Principal GMC interact with students & Faculty of GMC Srinagar, assess requirements of infrastructure upgradation & improved civic facilities for the Medical students


SRINAGAR APRIL 08:- Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, Principal Government Medical College(GMC) Srinagar, Prof Iffat Hassan Shah on Wednesday held an interactive session with faculty and students of GMC Srinagar and the Nursing College to assess their requirements with respect to infrastructural upgradation, improvement in civic services & augmentation of existing facilities .
Administrator GMC Srinagar, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Aadil Fareed, Joint Commissioner SMC, Nuzhat Khurshid, Executive Engineer, R&B, Abdul Qayoom, Medical Superintendent SMHS Hospital, Dr Andleeb, District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Ghulam Hassan and other senior officers of the District Administration and GMC Srinagar were present on the occasion.
During the interaction, faculty and students highlighted requirements relating to development and upgradation of sports & recreational facilities, enhancement of library, reading room & smart classroom facilities, improvement of sanitation, civic facilities and hostel infrastructure, measures to address stray dog menace within and around the campus and macadamization, landscaping and green space development across the College premises.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized that interaction between administration and academia enables constructive solutions and meaningful progress through a coordinated approach. He assured the faculty and students of continued support from the District Administration to ensure a safe, supportive and conducive environment for academic and welfare of the students.

He assured the students that all issues and demands put forth by them would be addressed on priority in a time bound manner.
Earlier, the Principal GMC Srinagar acknowledged the support and cooperation of District administration for infrastructure upgradation at GMC Srinagar, including the commissioning of a receiving station that ensures uninterrupted power supply to SMHS Hospital, Super Specialty Hospital, Dental College, and Nursing College, allotment of land for construction of additional blocks, provisioning of enhanced street lights in and around the campus thereby enhancing healthcare services and operational efficiency in the College and its associated hospitals.
