HDFC Bank Ranked India’s Most Valuable Brand in 2025 BrandZ Report


Srinagar, Nov 26, KNT: HDFC Bank has been ranked as India’s most valuable brand in the 2025 edition of the Kantar BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Indian Brands report. The bank’s brand value has grown 18 percent this year, rising to 44.9 billion dollars from 38.3 billion dollars in 2024. Since the first BrandZ India report was released in 2014, HDFC Bank’s brand valuation has increased by 377 percent.
Kantar noted that the bank’s growth has been driven by sustained innovation and investment in technology aimed at improving customer experience. It highlighted initiatives such as Vigil Aunty, the bank’s digital persona created to educate users on financial fraud, as well as a strong push toward digital banking services. The bank has been ranked number one in eight out of the report’s twelve editions.
Ravi Santhanam, Group Head for Brand, Retail Marketing and Customer Analytics, and Chief Marketing Officer at HDFC Bank, said the recognition reflects the bank’s continued focus on customer trust, safety and problem solving. He said the bank has consistently evolved its services over three decades by keeping customers at the core of its strategy.

The Kantar BrandZ methodology assesses brand value using two components: Financial Value, which measures corporate earnings linked to brand assets, and Brand Contribution, which evaluates demand power, pricing power and future growth potential.
The report said HDFC Bank has strengthened its brand through user focused innovation, noting services such as Banking Correspondent Centres and e Mitra kiosks that extend banking access to rural and semi urban areas. It also cited the bank’s digital Xpress Car Loan service offering an industry first thirty minute guarantee, along with Vigil Aunty’s role in promoting cybersecurity awareness.
Kantar said these innovations have positioned HDFC Bank as India’s most meaningfully different financial services brand. [KNT]
