Srinagar, Dec 5, KNT: Pulwama MLA Waheed Ur Rehman Para has written to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir seeking urgent approval of the age relaxation proposal for aspirants appearing in the Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive Examination 2025. Para, in his letter to Raj Bhawan, noted that thousands of youngsters had lost crucial preparation years due to circumstances beyond their control and were now anxiously awaiting relief. He said that although the government has repeatedly stated that the proposal has completed all procedural formalities, the final approval is still pending. “This prolonged silence has created uncertainty and distress among aspirants who are holding on to their hopes for a fair chance,” he wrote.

Emphasising that further delay could deepen the sense of exclusion among young candidates, Para argued that a timely decision would restore confidence in public institutions. He stated that a favourable order before the exam would not only address an administrative issue but also carry symbolic weight for the youth. “It would affirm that their voices matter and that the system they want to serve truly stands with them,” he added.

Para requested the Lieutenant Governor to accord immediate approval to the proposal so that aspirants may appear in the upcoming examination without uncertainty or perceived injustice. In a public statement, he said, “After receiving numerous calls from students about the upcoming exams, I’ve written to the LG requesting age relaxation for JKPSC aspirants. The system our youth aspire to serve should stand by them, not shut them out.”

The MLA said he hopes the administration will consider the concerns of thousands of young candidates in the interest of fairness and opportunity. [KNT]
