

Srinagar, Dec 6, KNT: The Department of Bioresources, University of Kashmir, is set to host the 2nd Jammu and Kashmir International Conference on Breast and Allied Cancers from December 22 to 24, 2025, bringing together medical professionals, researchers, academicians and students to deliberate on recent advances in cancer research and treatment.
Organizing Secretary, Dr Manzoor Ahmed Mir told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the three-day conference will focus primarily on breast cancer while also covering a broad spectrum of allied cancers. The programme has been approved by the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Council and participating doctors will be eligible to earn ten Continuing Medical Education credits.
Sessions during the conference will address emerging trends in breast cancer treatment, genetics and molecular pathways, the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning in cancer diagnosis, advances in imaging and current understanding of triple negative breast cancer. Clinical trial developments, lifestyle and environmental risk factors, and the role of nursing science in cancer management will also be discussed.

The conference will additionally focus on allied cancers, covering topics such as novel biomarkers, diagnostic innovations, gynecological and reproductive cancers, immunotherapy, targeted therapeutics, and precision oncology. Public health approaches and preventive oncology are also part of the scientific agenda.
The event is expected to attract participation from MBBS and MD doctors, oncologists, clinicians, researchers, postgraduate and undergraduate students, doctoral scholars, nursing professionals and public health experts. SKIMS and GMC Srinagar are supporting the programme as health partners.
Dr Manzoor Mir said the conference aims to create a platform for academic exchange and collaboration by linking breast cancer research with broader cancer care and research efforts. [KNT]
