Awantipora Police raid JeI member’s house, incriminating material seized

Pulwama, Jan 1, KNT: Awantipora Police on Thursday conducted a raid at the residence of a member of the banned outfit Jamaat-e-Islami in Dadsara area, in connection with an FIR registered at Police Station Awantipora.

Officials said the search operation was carried out as part of sustained efforts to dismantle the terror ecosystem and its support structures operating in the area. During the raid, police recovered incriminating material along with digital devices from the premises.

Several individuals were also questioned during the operation and were bound down under relevant legal provisions, officials added.

Police said such actions are aimed at identifying and neutralising elements involved in providing logistical, financial or ideological support to terror activities. They added that investigations in the case are continuing. [KNT]
