Kupwara administration airlifts critical patients from Tangdhar


Kupwara, Jan 29, KNT: The District Administration Kupwara on Thursday airlifted eight persons, including three critically ill patients, from Tangdhar to Kupwara to ensure timely and urgent medical care amid challenging conditions.

Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara Shrikant Suse, said the airlift operation was carried out to provide immediate medical assistance to patients who required specialised treatment and could not be shifted through road transport. The critically ill patients were evacuated on priority and shifted to appropriate medical facilities in Kupwara.

He said the administration remains committed to ensuring uninterrupted medical care to inhabitants of far flung and border areas, particularly during emergencies and adverse weather conditions.

In response to a question, the Deputy Commissioner said that BRO is on job to open Tangdhar road for vehicular movement. “At many places, there were landslides and it halted the progress, but i am sure the road will get open shortly,” he said. [KNT]
