Over 2,200 industrial units operational in J&K over seven years, Investment jumps 26.86% in 2025–26,


Jammu, Feb 7, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir government has said that 2,227 industrial units have become operational in the Union Territory over the last seven years, involving a cumulative investment of Rs 15,940 crore.
The government said this has led to a significant rise in industrial investment, which increased from Rs 4,146 crore in 2024–25 to Rs 5,260 crore in 2025–26 up to December 2025, registering a growth of 26.86 percent within the first three quarters of the current financial year.
According to the government, the industrial promotion scheme has attracted proposed investments worth Rs 14,292 crore through 440 new applications. Out of these, 386 units with an investment of Rs 9,074 crore have already commenced production.
The government said the steady rise in operational units and investments reflects growing industrial activity and improved investor confidence in Jammu and Kashmir, adding that efforts are being made to further strengthen the industrial ecosystem and employment generation. [KNT]
