Business community’s response to Budget answers BJP, PDP criticism: Tanveer Sadiq

Jammu, Feb 9, KNT: National Conference MLA Tanveer Sadiq on Monday said the positive response of the business community to the recent Budget stands as a clear rebuttal to claims made by the BJP and PDP that the Budget offers nothing substantial for Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to reporters, Tanveer Sadiq said that for the first time, the business community and the Chamber of Commerce have openly appreciated the Budget, as it touches almost every sector of the economy. He said the feedback from traders and businessmen reflects ground realities and exposes the political criticism aimed at undermining the Budget without acknowledging its broader impact.

“The response from the business community itself answers those who are saying there is nothing in the Budget,” he said, adding that traders and industrial stakeholders have welcomed the provisions as they address multiple sectors and economic concerns.

Responding to a question on constitutional changes, Tanveer Sadiq said that the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was annulled without the consent of its people. He said Article 370 and special status hold deep emotional and political significance for the people of the region.

“Special status and Article 370 are very close to the hearts of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said, adding that decisions of such magnitude should have reflected the will and aspirations of the people.

The MLA reiterated that public sentiment on the issue remains strong and continues to shape political discourse across the Union Territory. [KNT]
