Govt Keeps Order on TET Nodal Agency in Abeyance

Srinagar, Feb 26, KNT: The School Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has kept in abeyance its earlier order designating the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education and the State School Standards Authority as the nodal agency for conducting the Teachers Eligibility Test.

According to Government Order No. 87-JK (Edu) of 2026 dated Feb 26, the earlier Government Order No. 82-JK (Edu) of 2026 dated Feb 23 stands suspended till further orders.

The previous order had designated the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education and the State School Standards Authority as the nodal agency for conducting the Teachers Eligibility Test in the Union Territory.

The latest decision has been issued by the School Education Department in reference to a Supreme Court judgment dated Sept 1, 2025 in Civil Appeal No. 1385/2025 and connected matters titled Anjuman Ishat-E-Taleem Trust versus State of Maharashtra and others.
