Pulwama Police Recover Illegally Extracted Sand in Hassanwani Crackdown

Pulwama, April 6, KNT: Pulwama Police on Monday recovered a significant quantity of illegally extracted sand during a joint inspection in Hassanwani area, with authorities suspecting the material was extracted from Nallah Romshi.

The action was carried out as part of an ongoing drive against illegal mining, with police coordinating with the District Mineral Officer and his team to verify reports of unauthorized extraction in the area.

During the inspection, the recovered material was examined on the spot and confirmed to be illegally mined, prompting initiation of legal action under relevant provisions of law.

Authorities said further enquiry has been taken up to identify the persons involved in the illegal activity.
