Sopore School Row: Eight Arrested After Miscreants Disrupt Student Protest

Sopore, April 14, KNT: Police have arrested eight persons during night-long raids in Sopore after alleged outsiders entered the premises of Government Girls Higher Secondary School and disrupted a student protest, officials said on Tuesday.
The action follows unrest at the school a day after a teacher was accused by girl students of harassment, leading to his booking by police and suspension by the education department.
The development is significant because what began as a student-led protest over alleged misconduct escalated after non-students entered, raising law and order concerns.
