Police Launch Anti-Encroachment, Wrong Parking Drive in City Centre

Srinagar, May 20, KNT: Authorities on Wednesday conducted a traffic and anti-encroachment drive along Residency Road and MA Road in Srinagar to remove unauthorized encroachments, clear wrong parking and identify congestion points contributing to traffic bottlenecks.

The operation was carried out in the city centre amid efforts to improve traffic movement and address recurring congestion on key commercial roads.

Officials said the drive focused on removing encroachments affecting pedestrian and vehicular movement while simultaneously examining choke points and factors responsible for traffic congestion.

The exercise assumes significance as Residency Road and MA Road remain among Srinagar’s busiest commercial stretches and frequently witness traffic jams, unauthorized parking and roadside obstructions.
