MLA Ahsan Pardesi Announces ₹95 Lakh Drinking Water Project for Chak Khanmoh


Srinagar: Ahsan Pardesi said that he is pleased to inform that the work on the project titled “Augmentation of Drinking Water Facilities to Gujar Basti, Check Sangri, Khanmoh by way of exploration of borewell including pipe network, pumping station and electro-mechanical works” at an estimated cost of ₹95 lakh will commence shortly.
He stated that the scheme marks the fulfillment of a major commitment towards improving basic infrastructure in the area and added that work on the project will begin soon.

The residents of Chak Khanmoh have been facing acute drinking water shortages for decades and had repeatedly demanded a reliable water supply system. With the approval and execution of this scheme, the long-pending water crisis affecting hundreds of households in the locality is expected to be resolved, bringing major relief to the people.
“This project will ensure a sustainable and dependable supply of drinking water to the area and will significantly improve the quality of life of the residents. Access to safe drinking water is a basic necessity, and with the commencement of this work, the people will be able to lead healthier, more dignified and comfortable lives,” he said.
Ahsan Pardesi congratulated the people of Chak Khanmoh, who will directly benefit from the project. The MLA said that under the leadership of Omar Abdullah, Jammu and Kashmir is poised for growth and public welfare remains the government’s top priority.
He also thanked all the concerned departments for their efforts in making the project a reality and reiterated his commitment towards addressing the genuine issues and concerns of the people of the Lal Chowk constituency while ensuring equitable development across all areas.
He further remarked that the approval of the water supply augmentation project is another important milestone in the developmental journey of the constituency and reflects the continued focus on strengthening public infrastructure and improving essential services for the people. He assured residents that developmental initiatives aimed at enhancing civic amenities and public welfare will continue with the same dedication and commitment in the coming years.
