New Delhi, July 23, KNT: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday joined students protesting at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, expressing solidarity with their demand for transparent, fair and merit-based examinations and recruitment processes.
Addressing the gathering, Mehbooba Mufti said the country’s youth should not be made to suffer because of corruption, administrative failures and recurring examination scams.
“Our youth will not pay the price for corruption, incompetence and exam scams. Their future is non-negotiable,” she said.

Calling for strict accountability, the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister said every individual found responsible for irregularities in examinations must be identified, prosecuted and held fully accountable.
“Justice for students cannot be delayed. Every individual responsible must be identified, prosecuted and held fully accountable,” she asserted.
Mehbooba Mufti also remarked that the real test before the country was not only for students but for the institutions responsible for safeguarding fairness and merit.
“The biggest exam today isn’t just for students—it’s for the system, it’s for India,” she said.
The protest at Jantar Mantar witnessed the participation of students demanding greater transparency, accountability and reforms in examination and recruitment processes amid concerns over alleged paper leaks and recruitment irregularities. [KNT]
