Police officer injured in militant attack succumbs

The Jammu Kashmir Police Officer who was injured in a militant attack in Srinagar’s Eidgah area in the last week of October this year succumbed to his injuries at All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi.

The deceased police inspector Masroor Ahmed had been shifted from Srinagar’s private hospital to AIIMS Delhi yesterday for specialized treatment.

He had sustained life-threatening injuries after being shot by unknown militants in old Srinagar city while playing cricket with local youth on 29 October.

This year till date, two top police officers including Masroor Ahmed were killed in militancy related incidents. On 13 September this year, DSP Humayoun Bhat was killed in Gadole Kokarnag encounter in South Kashmir. [KNT].
