Pertinently, a World Bank funded building is coming up at Bone and Joint Hospital, the funds allocated to the Hospital after the floods of 2014, under Jhelum Tawi Flood Recovery Project. The Rs 89 crore 120 bedded building is still incomplete while the government repeatedly claimed that it will complete the construction without any delay but the situation on the ground is totally different.

Bone and Joint Hospital located in the Barzulla area of Srinagar uptown was gutted in a devastating fire in March this year.

The hospital as per news agency Kashmir News Trust has only one registration counter for patients who are being treated under the ‘Golden Card Scheme’.

Hospital authorities have said that 2900 patients have been treated under Golden Card Scheme from January 2022 to September 2022. [KNT]
