3 houses gutted in Srinagar fire incident, 11-year old boy suffers burn injuries

Three houses were completely gutted while two others suffered partial damage even a kid suffered life-threatening burn injuries in a fire incident in the Bemina area of Srinagar city.

Local sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the fire broke out in the middle of the night at Mansoor Colony Bemina damaging three residential houses completely while two other houses suffered partial damage. They said that an 11-year-old boy identified as Asif Ahmed suffered burn injuries during the mishap. He has been undergoing treatment at SKIMS Soura.

The cause of the fire is said to be short circuit.

Locals said that the fire was doused by firefighters with the help of locals.

These houses belonged to Shakeel Ahmed Tako, Habibullah Shamsher and Shabir Ahmed Sheikh.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and registered a case under relevant sections of law. [KNT]
