District Development Council (DDC) Pulwama has passed a resolution demanding an explanation from the Tehsildar Pulwama and Executive Engineer PWD for allegedly “disgracing” the Vice Chairperson of the Council.
The Council passed the resolution today during its meeting about the developmental issues of this South Kashmir district.
A couple of members present in the meeting told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the Council members passed a resolution demanding an explanation and suspension of Tehsildar Pulwama and Executive Engineer Public Works Department for their ‘forcible’ entry into the government quarter of Vice Chairperson of the Council.
They said that the Tehsildar and the Executive Engineer PWD barged into the quarters of VC Mukhtar Bandh in the middle of the night, and locked his quarter without serving any prior eviction notice. “He was humiliated in front of his family, despite being an elected member,” the members said.
The resolution passed by the Council sought an explanation from these two officials demanding their suspension and stern action against them.
The Council was chaired by Bari Andrabi and all 13 members supported the said resolution. [KNT]
