Both domestic and foreign tourists are prohibited from entering Galwan Valley since 2020 – the year, when at least twenty Indian Army personnel, including the Commanding Officer of the 16th Bihar Regiment, lost their lives at the hands of Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley of Ladakh.
