Former Jamiat Ahle Hadith President Ghulam Rasool Malik passes away

The former acting president of Jamiat Ahle Hadith Ghulam Rasool Malik passed away after long illness at SKIMS Soura here in Srinagar.

Jamiat Ahle Hadith spokesperson told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that Ghulam Rasool Malik had taken the control of the socio-religious organization in April 2011 when the then president Maulana Showkat was killed in a blast.

Malik, a resident of Akhrani village of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district was a well-known preacher and a top cleric. Thousands of people participated in his funeral and his nimaz-e-jinazh was offered by the    Jamiat Ahle Hadith current president Professor Ghulam Muhammad Bhat Almadni. Besides Vice President Dr Abdul Latif Alkandi and Secretary General Abdul Halim Wani, renowned religious leader from Akrani village, Muhammad Maqbool Akrani also participated in the last rites.

The departed soul was laid to rest at his native village.

“It is a big loss to the organization. His services will always be remembered,” President Jamiat Ahle Hadith Ghulam Muhammad Bhat Almadni told KNT.
