River Police rescue tourists in Dal Lake, Weather expected to remain dry today

Weather in Kashmir Valley is expected to remain dry tomorrow even as the Met Office has predicted more rains and relatively decreased temperatures in the coming days.

According to Meteorological Department, the temperatures are likely to decrease across the Kashmir Valley.

Scores of areas across Kashmir Valley witnessed wind, dust, thunderstorm and rain on Friday. The meteorological authority added that isolated downpour is expected in some places.

The MeT office has asked farmers to remain cautious, while tourists have been advised to plan their activities accordingly.

Meanwhile, River Police swung into action when the onset of rain caused chaos among tourists in Dal Lake and they were brought back safely.

β€œThere were a number of tourists enjoying shikhara rides in the middle of the Dal Lake. WithΒ  the onset of the rains, river police were quick to respond, launching rescue missions to bring everyone back to safety,” a local boatman told KNT.
