Two students injured in a clash ‘Legal action will be taken against accused: SSP Ganderbal

Two students were injured in a clash in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday late afternoon.

The incident occurred in the market and the victim students study at Dream Land Private School located at Beehama.

School Principal Mr Showkat Ahmed told news agency Kashmir News Trust that he heard the news about the attack from outsiders.

Injured students identified as class 11 student Hidayat Ahmed and class 9 student Muhammad Ibrahim, both residents of Beehama were shifted to District Hospital Ganderbal where doctors referred them to SKIMS Soura.

Eyewitnesses said that there was a fight between Hadayat Ahmed and an unknown student. Ibraheem tried to pacify both and during the melee, he too suffered injuries.

An unauthenticated report said that the unknown student was carrying a sharp-edged weapon.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident.

When contacted, SSP Ganderbal Mr Nikal Borkar told news agency Kashmir News Trust that there was a fight between students and unfortunately some students sustained injuries. He said that the accused will be brought to the police station and whatever law demands action will be initiated. [KNT]
