Sopore mysterious blast kills trio including two children

Baramulla, July 29, KNT: At least three persons including two children were killed in a mysterious blast inside the lawn of a scrap dealer in Sopore town of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.

The blast occurred at the Sher Colony area of Sopore.

Sopore Police have registered a case and initiated a probe.

An eyewitness present at Sub-District Hospital Sopore told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that after unloading scrap from the truck, several people started extracting different kinds of metals from it.

“During this process, a loud bang was heard, leading to the injuries to several people while one of them died on the spot,” he said adding that the injured were rushed to Sub-District Hospital Sopore.

Three people including two children died in the blast whom hospital sources identified as Nazir Ahmed Nadro, Azam Ashraf, and Ghulam Hasan, all residents of Sher Colony Sopore.

The condition of the injured identified as Adil Rashid Bhat who has been referred to Srinagar Hospital for treatment is stated to be critical. [KNT]
