J&K: 14 casualties in 12 encounters reported in September

Srinagar, Sep 30, KNT: Jammu and Kashmir experienced a notable increase in militancy-related incidents in September, with 12 encounters reported across the region.

The data available with the news agency Kashmir News Trust reveals that the encounters resulted in the deaths of three soldiers, one policeman, eight militants, and two infiltrators. Additionally, nine security personnel, including six soldiers and two police officers, were injured.

A Border Security Force (BSF) personnel was also injured in Pakistani firing along the Line of Control.

Nine encounters took place in the Jammu region, while three occurred in the Kashmir Valley.

The encounter occurred at different places including Karyote village of Rajouri, Nowshera Sector of Rajouri, Khandara Top of Basantgarh in Udhampur district, Sarankote forests of Poonch, Pingnal Dugadda forest area of Chatroo Kishtwar,  Chak Tappar Kreeri area of Baramulla, Pathanateer area of Poonch, Shikari area of Mahore Reasi, Adigam Devsar Kulgam and Kogmandali village of Kathua district.
