SIT Probes Criminal Angle in Rajouri Deaths as Neurotoxins Found in Samples

Rajouri, Jan 25, KNT: Following the deaths of 17 people in Badhal village of Rajouri district, authorities have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate potential criminal activity after traces of neurotoxins were discovered in samples from the deceased.

An official told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the SIT has so far questioned over 50 individuals in connection with the case, aiming to uncover any foul play linked to the tragic incident.

In parallel, efforts have been intensified to identify and quarantine individuals who came into contact with the victims, including those involved in hospital visits and burials.

The official added that a central team is also conducting an independent probe alongside the police investigation to determine the exact cause of the deaths. Both teams are working to uncover whether the neurotoxins were introduced intentionally or through other means. [KNT]
