Doesn’t Behoove Speaker to Go and Meet CM, Says Sajad Lone

Srinagar, Feb 15, KNT: Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Lone has expressed disappointment virtually blaming the Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather for bringing a disrepute to the chair of Speaker. He wrote on X:

“This is a disgrace to the post of the CM. Why should the speaker go to CM to meet to discuss legislative business. Speaker is the highest authority in legislature and it doesn’t behoove him to go to CM office to discuss legislative. It is insult to the sanctity of legislature as well as people of J&K who have chosen MLAs. Shameful, CM omar Abdullah’s office has tweeted about it.”

Earlier the office of the Chief Minister tweeted and said that “Hon’ble Speaker, Shri Abdul Rahim Rather, called on me (CM) to discuss the upcoming budget session, its schedule, and key legislative business. Looking forward to a productive budget session focused on J&K’s growth and development.” [KNT]
