Srinagar, Feb 11, KNT: A bomb disposal squad safely defused a mortar shell found in the Akhnoor sector on Tuesday, police officials said.
The shell was spotted by locals in Partap Canal near Namandar village around 10 am, prompting them to alert the authorities.
A police team rushed to the location and immediately called in the bomb disposal squad, which successfully neutralized the explosive device.
Officials have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious objects to law enforcement to prevent potential threats. [KNT]
