Four Persons Including Three Tourists, Killed, Several Injured in Deadly Road Accident in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal

 

Ganderbal, Mar 23, KNT: In a deadly road accident in the Gund Kangan area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, four persons including three tourists lost their lives on the spot, while two others are battling for their lives. Fourteen more people sustained injuries in the fatal crash.

The accident occurred near the CRPF camp in Gund when a tourist cab on its way to Sonamarg had a head-on collision with a passenger bus heading towards Srinagar. The impact was devastating, leaving the tourist cab completely damaged. Three tourists traveling in the cab died instantly, while two others suffered critical injuries. Several passengers in the bus were also wounded. A local died on way to the hospital.

An eyewitness told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that at least 14 people suffered injuries in the mishap. The injured were rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment. Among them, three individuals were referred to SKIMS Soura for advanced medical care, and their condition is reported to be critical.

A senior police official confirmed the accident and stated that besides 3 tourists one local resident also lost his life, bringing the total death toll to four. He said that the toll my go up as the condition of some injured is critical. [KNT]
