Live Shell Defused Near LoC Village in Poonch

Poonch, May 20, KNT: A major tragedy was averted in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district after the bomb disposal squad of the Indian Army defused a live shell discovered near a roadside in Dara Bagyal village, close to the Line of Control (LoC).

According to official sources, the shell, believed to have been fired from across the border, was first spotted by local residents. Positioned dangerously close to a road frequently used by villagers, the unexploded ordnance had the potential to cause widespread damage and casualties.

Upon noticing the suspicious object, residents immediately alerted the authorities, prompting the swift deployment of a bomb disposal team from the Indian Army. The squad arrived at the site, cordoned off the area, and safely defused the shell before carrying out a controlled detonation.
