Visitors Say Valley is Safe, Beautiful, and Full of Warmth
Tourism Boost After Pahalgam Attack Raises Local Hopes
“We’ll Come Again,” Say Tourists Enjoying Kashmir’s Scenic Beauty
Foreign Groups Arrive, Explore Gardens, Lakes, and Mountains
Srinagar, June 16, KNT: Foreign tourists are once again arriving in Kashmir, bringing back smiles and a fresh wave of hope for the local tourism industry. After a brief setback caused by the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, visitors from different countries have started exploring the Valley’s natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere.
Tourism is a major part of Jammu and Kashmir’s economy, supporting thousands of jobs and small businesses. The return of international visitors is being seen as a big step towards normalcy and recovery.
Carolina, a tourist from Poland who has visited Kashmir before, said she feels completely safe. “Kashmiris are always smiling and welcoming. This year, three groups from my company are visiting — about 60 people in total. We’re very happy to be here,” she said.
Margret, a first-time visitor from Germany, also shared her experience. “Everyone here is so friendly. People take pictures with us and offer us tasty food. I’ve never seen such natural beauty — the gardens, the mountains, everything is amazing. I feel safe, and I want others to come here and enjoy this paradise,” she said.
Tourists are visiting famous places like Gulmarg, Sonmarg, Pahalgam, and the Mughal gardens of Srinagar. Locals are happy to see the growing number of visitors, as it brings income and a sense of normal life returning.
Officials say the flow of both domestic and international tourists shows that people have confidence in Kashmir’s safety and hospitality.
As tourists walk along lakes and flower-lined paths, the message they carry is clear: Kashmir is peaceful, beautiful, and open to the world once again. [KNT]
