Srinagar Police Attaches Property Worth Rs 50 Lakhs of Notorious Drug Peddler

In a significant step towards dismantling the infrastructure of drug trafficking, Srinagar Police on Saturday attached property worth approximately Rs 50 lakhs belonging to a notorious drug peddler from Anantnag, under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The seized property, which includes a two-storeyed residential house and adjacent land in Sirgufwara, belonged to Bilal Ahmad Wani, son of Gh. Ahmad Wani. He is involved in FIR No. 05/2025 registered under sections 8/20 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Shaheed Gunj.

According to officials, investigations established that the immovable assets had been acquired through proceeds of illicit drug trade. Acting in accordance with Sections 68-E and 68-F of the NDPS Act, the property has been formally attached following due legal procedure. The order bars any sale, transfer, or other transaction involving the property without the consent of the competent authority.

Police said that Bilal Ahmad Wani has a history of narcotics-related offences and was instrumental in pushing drugs into local communities, especially targeting vulnerable youth, posing a grave threat to public health and safety.
